MEET TAKUMII,
FOUNDER OF NXT UP STUDIOS
DJ Takumii, also known as Takumi Hebert, grew up in Northeast Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Oregon State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Communications. Alongside his academic journey, Takumi pursued his passions for both soccer and music. As a Division I athlete, he competed in the Pac-12 for Oregon State, where his team consistently ranked in the nation’s top 10 throughout all four years of his career.
Drawing on that same drive and energy, Takumi has built a dynamic career as a DJ. His experience spans a wide range of events, including weddings, school dances, charity fundraisers, graduation parties, homecomings, proms, corporate gatherings, clubs, bars, birthdays, and more.
Some of his notable highlights include working closely with the Oregon Ducks Football Program year-round since 2017, performing a live set at Portland’s Rose Festival, and assisting with the Common Kings post-game concert at the University of Oregon.
Takumi brings professionalism, versatility, and an undeniable passion for music to every event, creating memorable experiences for crowds of all sizes.
WHAT IS NXT UP STUDIOS?
Nxt Up Studios is an LLC founded by Takumi in 2020. Originally launched as a sound engineering and music production company, it began as both a creative outlet and a way to support his college education. The studio offered a professional recording space for artists across a variety of genres, with Takumi serving as producer and engineer. Today, Nxt Up Studios continues to provide mixing and mastering services while also expanding into mobile DJ entertainment based in LA but servicing both the Pacific Northwest and Southern California areas.
