MEET TAKUMII,
FOUNDER OF NXT UP STUDIOS
DJ Takumii (Takumi Hebert) is a Los Angeles–based DJ and creative originally from Northeast Portland, Oregon. He graduated from Oregon State University in 2022 with a B.A. in Digital Communications, where he also competed as a Division I soccer athlete in the Pac-12. That same discipline, energy, and performance mindset now fuels his career behind the decks.
After leaving his traditional job four years ago to pursue music full time, Takumi has built a dynamic career performing at weddings, private events, corporate gatherings, clubs, and large-scale productions. Known for his versatility and ability to read any room, he delivers high-energy sets tailored to every crowd—from intimate celebrations to packed nightlife venues.
Takumi has worked year-round with major collegiate athletic programs, including Oregon State Football, University of Oregon Football, and most recently UCLA Football. As his career continues to grow, he now frequently travels between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, headlining shows and expanding his presence in both markets.
In addition to live performances, DJ Takumii has rapidly expanded his audience through viral mashups and content across TikTok and Instagram, earning millions of views and building a fast-growing online following. His digital momentum has translated directly into high-demand bookings, including luxury private events, destination weddings, and international performances—most notably his first destination wedding booking in Italy.
WHAT IS NXT UP STUDIOS?
Nxt Up Studios is an LLC founded by Takumi in 2020. Originally launched as a sound engineering and music production company, it began as both a creative outlet and a way to support his college education. The studio offered a professional recording space for artists across a variety of genres, with Takumi serving as producer and engineer. Today, Nxt Up Studios continues to provide mixing and mastering services while also expanding into mobile DJ entertainment based in LA but servicing both the Pacific Northwest and Southern California areas.
